What is Qlix?

Qlix was established in 2017 with the mission to empower teachers globally by providing a platform that enables them to plan, deliver and collaborate on their lessons, anywhere in the world. Currently, we offer an online planner which enables teachers to create and timetable their classes, create and share lesson plans, create tasks and reminders and take meeting notes.

Why Qlix?
Qlix is a digital version of a paper planner. This digitalisation of your planner brings multiple benefits such as:

  • Your lesson plans are accessible and available whenever and wherever you are, plus they are automatically backed up
  • You are easily able to reuse previous lesson plans and share lesson plans with others
  • It is easy to change and rearrange lesson plans, tasks or reminders without your planner becoming messy and confusing
Where can I get training for Qlix?
We have carefully crafted Qlix to be intuitive and easy to use so you are able to get going immediately. If you, however, encounter any issues then please reach out to us for assistance.
I am stuck, how do I get assistance?

In case of difficulty, the best course of action is to contact our support team. There are several ways do to this:

  • In App, once you are logged into Qlix, you can contact us using the chat button in the bottom right hand corner
  • Email, [email protected] – please send the email from the same account you used to register your account
What does Qlix cost?

Qlix has a complimentary free trial period when you first sign up. After this free trial has completed, a subscription is required. To view our latest plans, once logged into the app click the ‘Subscribe’ link at the top right corner of the home page.

We provide an attractive incentive system for users who successfully refer users to Qlix.

How does the referral scheme work?

Our referral scheme works by providing the referrer with additional complimentary months of membership for every referred user!

All you need to do is give your referral code to your fellow colleagues asking them to add the code upon registration. You are able to locate your unique referral code from the settings page.

How do you request additional functionality?
We welcome people getting in touch with us about potential new features. If you have an idea about a new feature we encourage you to contact our support team ([email protected]) and we will work with you to get your request build into our offering.

General Questions

I have forgotten my password, how do I reset it?
To reset your password please do the following:

  • Go to the login page, press ‘reset your password’ and enter your email address.  An email will be sent with a verification code to this address.
  • Check your emails, if you do not receive an email please check your spam inbox.
  • Once you receive the email, switch back to Qlix and enter this code, along with your new password. You will then be able to login and start planning again right away.
I have made a mistake during the initial setup process what should I do?
Don’t panic, this is easily rectified by going into settings on the main menu. There are tabs at the bottom of the settings page that enable you to alter the details you previously entered. If you still cannot correct your mistake then please do not hesitate to contact our support team at [email protected].
I need to add a new meeting, duty or alter a class colour, how can I do this?
All basic setup functionality like this can be altered within settings. Meetings and duties can be created and altered within the ‘responsibilities’ tab and the ‘classes’ tab enables class details, such as the colour, to be altered.
How do I reschedule a classes timetable?
To reschedule a timetabled class, go into settings and click the ‘classes’ tab. Select the class which needs altering and then click ‘edit’ by the teaching times. This opens a new window where you can click on a class to delete it from the timetable and click on a empty cell to add it to the timetable.
I need to print a lesson plan for an observation, how can I do this?
It is possible to print an individual lesson or print all the lessons within a day. To print a individual lesson, open the lesson plan and then click the ‘print’ button in the top toolbar. To print a full day, on the diary page click on the three vertical dots to the right of the day you wish to print. You are able to print Personal or Observation lesson plans, personal lesson plans contain the reminders and notes whereas these details are omitted in observation lesson plans.
Is it possible to link to resources / online materials?
Yes, in order to link to lesson resources such as worksheets, presentations etc, you can upload them to a shared drive and then copy the share link into your lesson plan. Once you have saved the lesson plan any share links or web links will automatically become hyperlinks which you can click to open the resource.
Can I reuse lesson plans from other previous academic years?
Yes, previous lessons plans can be imported into your current lesson plan through a few simple clicks. Simply click the ‘import’ button from the toolbar, search your previous lesson plans with our keyword search, and then click the desired lesson. You can view the lesson content before you import it.
I’m unable to plan lesson for a future term as my class does not show on the diary page?
This is usually because the term the lesson sits has not been added into the system by the school ambassador. Please contact your school ambassador to request that the term is added into the system. It is possible to view the currently added terms via the ‘school’ tab within settings, this also displays the name of the school ambassador.
How do I change my registered email address?
To change your registered email address, create a new account with the desired email address and then ask our support team to migrate the data from the old account to the new account. For security reasons, you will need to confirm the transfer by sending us a support message from your original account before the transfer can complete. So please ensure you keep access until the migration has completed.
I am moving schools, can I transfer lesson plans to my new school?
Yes. To move your lesson plans to a new school, create a new account with the desired email address and then ask our support team to migrate the data from the old account to the new account. For security reasons, you will need to confirm the transfer by sending us a support message from your original account before the transfer can complete. So please ensure you keep access until the migration has completed.
I do not wish to use Qlix any more, how do I extract my lesson plans?
We are sorry to hear you are not satisfied with Qlix, if you have a moment please do contact us to explain what we need to change. You are able to export all your lesson plan data by going into settings and pressing on the ‘export data’ button. This will export all your lessons plan into a CSV format which you can view on any spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel.

Technical Questions

Are there any system requirements?
Qlix runs within all modern web browsers, such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox and IE 9+. As the app runs within a browser there are no operating system or hardware requirements.
Does it work on tablet and mobile devices?
It is possible to use Qlix on tablet and mobile devices by downloading our Android or iOS app or directly through our website on your mobile browser.
Can the app be used offline?
The tablet and mobile apps can be used offline, it is not possible to use the web app offline. Updates on the tablet and mobile apps are saved locally and are sent back to our server once a connection has been re-established. However, as these updates are only stored locally, it is not possible to view these updates on another device or the web app until the original device has reconnected back onto the internet.
What happens if Qlix is down while I am in a lesson?
Our servers are located in multiple locations across the globe so if one server is down the app will automatically connect you to an alternative server. For there to be any app downtime, all our servers globally would need to be down at the same time. Of course, you can always print out a physical copy of your lesson plan beforehand.
Is my information secure?
All user entered information within the system is secure and will not be shared with any unconnected third party without your permission. We are GDPR compliant, please view our privacy policy on our website for more details.
Are the lesson plans backed up?
Our database is backed up daily. This backup is also stored remotely from the data center, in case of any physical damage to the data center. We are able to restore our data from the backup within an hour. If you are concerned about data loss then we encourage you to create a personal copy of your data by exporting your data on a regular basis.
When do you perform app maintenance?
We complete app maintenance routinely Saturday morning (Friday night) between the hours of 00:00-03:00 (UTC). The app is offline for no longer than one hour during these maintenance periods.
